Books to read for Halloween

Here are some of our favorite books related to Halloween.

1. Berenstain bears and the spooky old tree.(Stan Berenstain and Jan Berenstain)
halloween

The story is about 3 bears who go out to explore a spooky looking tree. What happens inside tree and how they come back to their mom is the story. This makes a good read if you read it with all the sound effects and drama. The sentences are short and the kids will memorize them in no time. If you do not have the book, there is a great youtube video of the book. The kids will surely enjoy reading the book along with the spooky scary sound effect.

2. Room on the  broom (Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler)
halloween

This is the kind of book that the parents and kids will enjoy. A witch and her cat are happily riding on her broom and on the way they meet some animals who want a ride on the broom as well. The friendly witch takes them along and unfortunately the broom breaks and there is a scary cute dragon in front. How they escape from the dragon makes the story. The illustrations are awesome. The rhyming words and the story are sure to delight the little ones. This is a great book to read out aloud.

3. Curious George goes to a costume party (Margaret and H.A. Rey's)

halloween

A Curious George fan would love this book. The man with the yellow hat and Curious George go to a party and on going there, they find that it is a costume party. They borrow costume from the host. George is trying out his costume and out of curiosity he does something and ends up looking like a ghost!

4. Little old lady who was not afraid of anything (Linda Williams and Megan Lloyd)
halloween
This is a book you can read over and over again. This is the story of a young lady who is going back to her cottage. it is late in the night and she sees one spooky thing after another but she proceeds without being scared. The spooky things come following her and know on her door. Is she brave enough? What happens next is the story. Kids love books with repetitive texts and this is one such book.
